As part of our mission to promote vibrant and sustainable food and farm systems in Kentucky, we work with on and off-campus partners to develop and deliver kitchen-based programs that foster learning related to local and sustainable food systems from farm to fork.

Learning kitchen program offerings include the following options:

  • Organization meeting (1-3 hours) - meeting of a university organization related to food or food systems, a food systems strategic partner, or other food systems related meeting, includes coffee service (max capacity 25), $36 flat fee.
  • Short food class (50 - 75 minutes) - lecture about food systems topic and brief cooking demonstration with a small sample (max capacity 45), $10 per participant.
  • Long food class (2 - 3 hours) - a brief introduction to the Food Connection, kitchen safety, and sanitation followed by a hands-on cooking class, sit down together to a small meal (max capacity 25), $20 per participant.
  • Custom event - please submit a custom event proposal (found here), fees are dependent on services

The kitchen is available for events Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 8:00 pm. The Food Connection schedules many of our own events throughout semesters so please have several dates in mind for your event. Multiple events are scheduled each week, so if you need access to the kitchen prior to your event please schedule that in advance.
