The Food Connection will achieve its mission and support UK’s land-grant mission through innovative instruction, high-impact service and outreach, and cutting edge research on foods and food systems.

  • Land-Grant Mission – Leverage each partner’s strengths, expertise, and resources to further the land-grant mission of the university.
  • Instruction – Advance nutrition and foods education both on and off campus, particularly to enhance wellness among UK students and Kentucky youth, including education on local and Kentucky proud products.
  • Research – Catalyze entrepreneurial research, enterprise development and applications in foods and nutritional sciences, with emphasis on local food production and products.
  • Outreach – Build a Cultivate Kentucky Partnership to foster sustainable, local food systems and increase supply of local and KY Proud products and producers.

Local Food Supply Facilitation
